Located in peaceful Honey Creek Bay on Lake Shafer just minutes from Indiana Beach Boardwalk Resort, we offer 11 guest units on a 1.7-acre lakefront property. Our lodging options range from cozy studio-style rooms to spacious two-bedroom cottages, making it easy to find the right fit for couples, families, and groups.
Guests can swim in the heated pool or the lake, relax along the shoreline, fish from the pier, dock their boat, or explore the water with our paddleboards and kayaks. Whether you’re here for adventure or relaxation, Bluebird Bay is designed to help you slow down and enjoy time together.

Meet the Owners
Bluebird Bay Resort opened in August 2021 when Matt and Lindsay purchased the lakeside property formerly known as Pirate’s Cove Resort. Both native Hoosiers and Purdue graduates, returning to Indiana to spend summers at the lake felt like coming home.
Lindsay spent many summers growing up on Lake Shafer, and both she and Matt have always loved the pace of lake life and the meaningful time together that’s hard to find elsewhere. After years living in Indianapolis, Chicago, and now Utah, they look forward to returning to Indiana each summer and sharing a place that reflects everything they love about lake living.
Bluebird Bay is truly a family-run retreat, and Matt, Lindsay, and their small team take pride in offering a space that feels welcoming, comfortable, and easy to enjoy. Whether guests are visiting with family, friends, or for a quiet getaway, their goal is simple: to share a place where lasting memories can be made, year after year.
